Work at Home

Finding a work at home job.

I have been a work from home mother for the last three years and I would not change a single thing about my life! Working from home has allowed me to make certain choices in my life that benefit my family and the lives of my children, and isn’t that what being a mother or parent is about, making choices to benefit your children. Well, it is at least part of what being a parent is all about.

The choice to start my work at home career was a little difficult for me at first. There were so many different possibilities that I could take advantage of and one of my fears was that someone out there would find a way to take advantage of me and that scared me to death. I have always seen all of those work at home now schemes and was scared that I was going to get caught up in one of those. But fear is part of our human nature and especially when you are a mom. You want to make the right choices for your children and I think fear plays a part in those decisions a little bit also. So I decided to use my head about the different work at home opportunities that there were and check some out.

Now I will admit I did get taken for twenty dollars but it was not as bad as it could have been. And in all honesty I could have read it a little better. What the twenty bucks went to was a person somewhere who after I sent them the twenty dollars sent me back a letter. In the letter it said that all I had to do was to send away several of these same letters after I copied them and changed their name to my name and I would start to make money. Well of course I would because these people would send me twenty dollars just like I sent my twenty dollars to that other person. Lesson learned on this one! Taking people for their hard earned money was and is not my style. But it did allow me to see the differences in real work at home jobs compared to other “schemes” that say they are work at home jobs. For those people who want to do this for a living that is fine for them and it is a completely personal choice and that choice was just not for me.

So after spending a little more time researching this time before I got involved with a company I finally found a pretty good work at home job. It was a data entry position. I would go down to a local office building and pick up several boxes of information that I had to enter into the businesses web site. Now first I had to take a class for a couple of hours to make sure that I knew exactly what I was doing but it was not hard to understand at all. After the class was over I picked up my one box (at the time) and went home. They wanted to test everyone out at first so you only get a small amount of files and then the more that you progress the more files that you get and the more money that you get. It was perfect for me. After the kids were asleep at night I would sit at my computer and type away. This little story is just to show all of you people out there that it is not all scams and money making schemes. There are real work from home jobs out there and you can find them!!
